Cruise Suggestions
Early and late season sailing within The Clyde, including Arran, Mull of
Kintyre and Loch Fyne.
In the summer from Kilmelford we can cruise south via Loch Shuna through
Dorus Mor and explore Loch Craignish with an overnight stop possibly in Ardfern. The following
day sail south to Loch Sween to pick up a mooring at Tayvallich where there are good facilities
at the local pub. A further days sailing south would enable you to visit the Isle of Gigha,
Jura or Islay.
A more northerly cruise would be to sail from Loch Melfort, through the Cuan Sound, and then via
the Sound of Mull to the town of Tobermory, famous for it's pretty painted cottages on the waterfront,
and the very popular Mishnish Hotel. A sail around to the west side of Mull offers anchorages off the
volcanic Treshnish Isles, Fingal's cave on Staffa and Tinker's hole.
For a seven day charter, a passage north from Tobermory around the Point of Ardnamurchan would allow
a visit to Arisaig, where moorings are available and a hotel ashore. Days could then be spent
cruising around the Isles of Skye and the Small Isles (Rhum, Canna, Eigg and Muck).
The remotest pub in Britain, The Old Forge Inn, can be visited by sailing into Loch Nevis, north of
Mallaig.
We are happy to discuss an itinerary with you beforehand, but this would always be subject to weather
conditions. Charterers with more sailing experience may wish to sail longer passages than others.
The choice is yours. There are so many destinations, some offering shore facilities, others a
tranquil anchorage. Your personal preferences and the skipper's local knowledge would be taken into
account when planning the itinerary.
